SST in healthcare
Psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists can increase the effectiveness of every session by building in SST techniques and principles.
Single-Session Therapy is not so much a therapeutic approach as a framework. This means it can easily be incorporated within any approach. Indeed, it is used by therapists from a wide range of backgrounds.
This is because research into SST – which began in the late 1980s at Kaiser Permanente (the largest US healthcare company) – has been replicated by public and private centres all over the world, which have studied the factors that maximise the effectiveness of every single session.
On this website you can get started by reading articles about the most important recent research on the subject and a free e-book which gives you an introduction to the principles and practise of SST. You can also register for training courses in Single-Session Therapy.
