In today’s article we introduce you to Jeff Young, another international expert in Single Session Therapy in the world who will participate in the IV Symposium on SST which this year will be held on 10, 11 and 12 November in Italy , in Rome and which has contributed to its diffusion throughout the world.

Who is Jeff Young and what has he accomplished?
Jeff Young (PhD) is professor emeritus at La Trobe University in Melbourne , Australia . He is a clinical psychologist and family therapist who has worked, published and disseminated in the mental health field for over 38 years . Between 2009 and 2022 he was director of the Bouverie Centre , the largest family therapy center in the world.
Over the years he has become interested in the concept of “single session thinking ” and the study and treatment of chronic issues, family bereavement and mental illness, Indigenous health and well-being, compassionate health services and how implement them. He was co-editor of two seminal texts and two special editions of the ANZJFT ( Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy ) on Single Session Therapy . With colleague Pam Rycroft , Young created the first self-paced online learning platform forSingle Session Thinking.
More recently he has become interested in developing No Bullshit Therapy , an approach to counseling aimed at people who dislike counseling or counselors.
Finally Young was president of the Victorian Association of Family Therapists , president of the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy (ANZJFT) and a member of the editorial board of the Dulwich Center Newsletter . He has previously won the Morawetz Prize for Research and was awarded the ANZJFT Special Prize for Outstanding Contributions to Family Therapy in 2017 and the THEMHS Prize for Outstanding Contributions to Mental Health in 2022.
